A tidy well kept car exemplifies a car owners persona. A well kept car indicates that the owner could be well off, is conscientious, smart and possibly a reliable person. People are more likely to associate themselves with the owners of a good looking car rather than someone driving around in a shabby set of wheels. Folks in North America are true car lovers and their love for cars makes it important to maintain the right appearance as looks do matter. To keep a clean shiny car requires car accessories and certain amount of physical labor. Carwash supplies are therefore an integral part of any car owners monthly shopping list. What comprises carwash supplies? Well, for starters, a car owner would require a good car shampoo to get rid of the dirt, grime and oil stains. There are two types of car shampoos available, one for the exterior car paint and the other for the interiors of the car. The car care routine starts with a car wash using a car shampoo and then following it up with a car polishing stage. To wash down your car, carwash supplies such as a good strong hose, and differential nozzles would be required as also requisite carwash sponges and towels. More effective than traditional car sponges are the micro fiber towels which do not scratch the paint when used. The added extra cost of these towels is well worth the investment. Washing a car requires a combination of spray jet and jet spray, facility which is available in adjustable nozzles which are commonly available. To reach those inaccessible corners of your car, nozzles come with flexible extenders which are not too expensive.

There are different types of car polishes ranging from wax, liquids, gels, and sprays. Difficult to remove oil, grime and dirt are best tackled by combo car polishes which not only remove the foreign material but also give the important new look whilst protecting the car paint. Silicon based car polishes come under this category and are easily available in the local supermarket next door. For self protection, wearing the right clothes and using the right tools is important. These too form part of carwash supplies and consist of suitable overalls, carwash boots and most importantly carwash mittens or gloves. Keeping all those carwash supplies requires a specialized storage which is possible by using the carwash shelves or racks available. Racks and shelves customized for your garage are also available in specialized car shops or the market. With all accessories and tools which form carwash supplies in hand, you can begin to maintain a new look car.

The best way to keep your car looking new and fresh is to wash and wax it regularly. You should try to wash your car at least once per month and to use some sort of car polish at least once every three to four months. Car washing prevents build-ups that will eventually ruin your car-bugs, salt build up, etc. Car polish or wax makes your car look shiny and protects it from fading.

Usually, I like to wash my car about once per week. I tend to save change in one of the compartments of my car and use the change I accumulate at the self-serve car wash. Most of the time, I like to wash the car once per week and wax it on Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. This definitely helps prevent corrosion and keeps my car look its best.

Waxing a car is actually pretty simple. Car polish, or wax, is applied as a thin, transparent layer over the paint. The car polish protects the paint job from the elements and masks minor flaws such as scratches. Car polish also seals the paint, making it less susceptible to corrosion. Begin waxing only after your have thoroughly washed and dried your car.

After drying the car, apply the car polish one section at a time to the car. You might want to test it on a section of the car that isn’t visible a few days before just to be absolutely certain that nothing bad will happen, for example, your paint rubbing off. I like to start at the top of the car and work down because there is a better chance of dirt being left on the bottom of the car. If you make that your last section, you won’t rub dirt all over the entire car-it will be concentrated to that one area.

Once you have completed the application process, buff your car to a nice shine using a soft, clean towel. I prefer to buy a towel to use specifically for this process, but an old house towel will do the job as long as it’s clean and soft.

So there you have it-the easiest way to keep your car looking as good as the day you brought it home. Keeping your car doesn’t take long, and can be fun!

Waxing your car is as important as cleaning it. A car wash only provides a temporary sparkling look while it is a car wax that actually defends the car paint from the harmful environmental factors. The very first step before applying a wax coating is to wash your vehicle thoroughly. There are a multiple of reasons to park your car away from the extreme weather because direct sunrays and a strong current of wind will wipe off the layers of applied wax before you could even relish the results.

The Steps

Use a damp wax sponge by applying a large coin sized wax in small circles. Repeat the process often and remember where you originally started from? Be careful when applying wax near the joints of car doors and hood as the accumulating wax can harm the levers. The next step is to wipe off the wax by a clean cotton cloth. A coat of wax will build up on the cleaning cloth. Don’t forget to shake off the wax, regularly. After polishing, you might notice tiny round spots. These spots are residual wax which must be cleaned thoroughly. The final step is to clean the entire vehicle with another soft cloth before enjoying that exhibition type look.
